IT'S ALL ABOUT FAMILY

If you’re reading this web page, chances are you care about family. Of course, families, like people, are imperfect. As my dad often quips, We’re like Swiss cheese – full of holes! But imperfect people can create strong and lasting families, providing joy, love, confidence, security and hope for children and parents. I’ve never met a person who didn’t want a “great” family to include the following characteristics: a healthy and intimate marriage; a loving home; joyful children; individuals with high self-esteem and hearts of gratitude; an environment in which acts of kindness and selflessness are common; and, a spirit of hope in the face of life’s ongoing challenges. Whoever you are, you can have a great family!

Intuitively, we know that our strength, identity, sense of belonging, self-esteem, ability to love and moral compass are all rooted within the strength of our family. When our family careens out-of-control, it sets our world on its head. Certainly, there are countless stories of those who have led successful lives in spite of their broken, dysfunctional or even tragic families. But great families pave the way for success. Great families provide us with a foundation from which to launch meaningful and fulfilling adult lives.

My Family’s Experience

My family’s experience has filled my heart with a longing to share the story of how God’s love changed my family and my life. The pain of growing up in a broken home, which left me emotionally “crippled” for so many years, has been erased by the love which envelopes my marriage, children and even extended family today. For me, the turning point came in 1996 when I surrendered control of my life to Jesus Christ. Philosophies, existential belief systems, academic concepts and metaphysic theories all fall away in light of truth experienced in our very own lives. I would have nothing to share, nor a book to write, were it not for the transformation experienced in my own family over this past decade. I’ve witnessed healings in relationships, a stronger/more intimate marriage, children growing in confidence and security, a loving atmosphere which permeates our home, hope and joy in the midst of challenges, and friends who often ask “What makes your family so happy?”

Because I can only share a short version of God’s impact on my family when speaking in person, I felt a longing to write “Still Hope for the American Family” and distribute it to as many people as possible. It’s the true story of my family’s healing and redemption. For anyone who suffers from the deep pain of shattered relationships and homes – it can be your story too.

If your heart longs for a strong family, as mine always has, I hope that you’ll spend a few minutes surfing this web site. Watch the video of my family story and learn about a God who cares for you intimately and wants you to know Him and experience His love for you. Read or hear excerpts which I read from the book. Post a blog or contact me and share your thoughts and feelings. It is my prayer that you experience something unique when you visit this site and that it begins a profound and eternal change in your family. Of course, I believe the book will help you to strengthen and build a great family. But, above all, I pray that you will seek the one true God who desires to strengthen and restore you, your family and all your relationships!
